The global rise in food prices in the last several years has been precipitated by a number of factors including
natural disaster, rapid population growth etc. Food insecurity causes physical, social and psychological problems in people.
Increase in the population has led to a great demand for food by people and this has resulted in hunger, famine and
diseases. This paper tries to assess food security and population growth in the 21st century. Some recommendations were also
made in the paper.
