Commercial Agriculture Development Project(CADP) in Enugu State provided the framework that effectively assisted agricultural financing through value chain development for small and medium commercial farmers who are engaged in Poultry, Fruit Trees and Maize value chain. One hundred and fifty four(154) Commodity Interest Groups (CIGs) comprising of 1,750 farmers disaggregated by gender; 1,220 males and 530 females benefited from CADP (World Bank assisted) in financing their agricultural activities. The benefits amounted to the sum of N638, 226,073.82 disaggregated into IDA N309, 233,324.91 and CIG’s contribution of N328, 992,748.91 from 2009 to 2013. The achievements made along the value chain promoted credit assistance in the State and were specified as follows; Poultry N294,423,761.86 disaggregated into IDA N138,748,296.53 and CIG’s contribution of N155,675,465.33, Fruit trees N58,489,100.00 disaggregated into IDA N25,856,870,00.00 and CIG’s contribution of N32,632,230.00 and Maize N233,249,308.96 disaggregated into IDA and CIG’s contribution of N116,624,654.48  each respectively. The project was restructured in 2014 to create more opportunities for beneficiaries to exhaust the remaining balance of the approved fund that was remaining almost 50% at the estimated completion period of December, 2014.
