Urban design is becoming a thing of global concern whereby towns and cities had moved into designing urban spaces for maximum effects. It is achieved through creation of beautiful public spaces, enhancing and preserving historic monuments for the enjoyment of the populace and acts for tourists’ attraction. This has brought landscape architecture and tourism together in the same goal of providing beautiful recreation spots for the people. Landscape architecture creates the warm, pleasing and beautiful public spaces and buildings which enhances general environmental quality and forms a basic urban design initiative. Tourism manages all these for maximum effect. This scenario manifested exactly in Enugu recently, where Polo Park was redesigned into a bustling warm public space with the introduction of an ultra modern shopping outfit (SHOPRITE) and some outdoor recreational facilities for children. This has made the place second to none in Enugu. This study therefore aims at showcasing Shoprite as an architectural idea with an urban design with regenerative potential. The researchers adopted the case study research design by observation. The study also made use of questionnaire administered on the spot; data gathered were presented in tables for subsequent analysis using chi-square test. The results revealed that Shoprite had most of its visitors in the shops and entertainment arena on weekly basis.
